In this episode I discuss OKI and why based on their numbers I can see them exiting all print! They started with transferring their Thailand print manufacturing business to ETRIA. OKI has many deliverables past print they could focus on and grow. Being as small as OKI is, I don't see them growing a print business in a massively declining industry.
In this episode I discuss why all the industry’s OEMs must be vigilant to the importance of profitability. Kyocera has exemplified a stewardship towards profitability. That discipline has put them in a great position to weather the storms of disruption. Delivering low operating profit is never good. However, during disruptions it's an occasional inevitable. As the industry continues under pressure it will be those with consistent discipline who will prevail.
Why does Ricoh perform so terribly especially in their Digital Services Business unit? The first 9 months of FY 24 the Digital Services business unit produced Over 9 Billion dollars in revenues with an operating profit of less than one percent! This happens nearly every quarter. Ricoh is proving to the world that they can not delver offices services profitable! I ask, WHY? Another question is, Do they even care? It really seems they don't!
