The Wrong Turn, Can Become The Wrong Destination! For example, a business says, "make sure you have the right people in the right seats on the bus."
The vehicle of any business on a journey toward continuous relevance is made up of its people. The human capital the business leader surrounds themselves with will ultimately determine the tenure of the business's current relevance and any needed journeys towards its continuous relevance.
I gave this analogy once, and someone asked me, "What happens when the bus driver is no longer sure of the route?" That is a great question, indeed. Here's my answer.
The founder or current leader's expertise is often challenged by the limits of what they know. However, those leaders who understand the need to surround themselves with those who can make up for their deficiencies will ensure that those seats holding the team and the driver are the right passengers for the journey.
Great leaders will bring in new navigators for needed journeys outside their navigational skills. However, great leaders will always keep their attention to the details in holding accountable all those navigating an uncharted path.
However, leaders must beware. Those knowing better often take advantage of those who are unknowing.
Ultimately the only way to prevent this is through accountability. A leader may need help navigating a new direction, but all leaders understand that every journey has mile markers, on and off-ramps, and rest stops.
Leaders should only allow assistant navigators who visualize the destination the leader has visualized.
Keeping in mind along all journeys, the visions of its destination become more evident through the journey. However, only through accountability throughout the journey will that clarity be visualized.
As I witness my friends within the print sector taking a journey to a new relevance, some need to remember the importance of the required accountability along the way, and others need to clarify their visions towards that relevant destination but are instead clouding their vision with dreams.
Remember, traveling towards dreams without clarity and accountability is often a never-reach destination.
The inability of any business to remain relevant will always result from a leader who refuses to surround themselves and hold accountable all those who can make up for their deficiencies.

It seems Lemark is maintaining its avoidance and pure nonsense regarding their ownership being a (PRC) Peoples Republic Of China entity banned by the DHS called Ninestar.
This story adds to the industry’s dilemma regarding the silence of industry leaders and media. I believe the industry must escape their comfort in silence and seek an understanding of the painful truth!
